Mirrored Journey's work unfolds through travel as a form of practice.

We design, initiate, and share journeys and workshops centered on learning, connection, and awareness.

When we are on the road, our rhythm is usually fluid. We immerse ourselves in local communities, listening to their stories, observing and participating in their ways of life. We sit in stillness together, sharing the moments that move and challenge us. We also leave space for solitude and silence, allowing our experiences to slowly settle.

Travel is not just about “arriving”—it is a practice.

We practice returning to the present moment, and reconnecting with nature, with others, and with ourselves. Through walking and experiencing in this way, we invite you to gently ask:

How else might I exist and live?

Keywords we care about

Nature · Ecology · Community · Locality
Indigenous / Ethnic minority cultures
Mindfulness · Spirituality · Unlearning
Deep Ecology · Anthropology
Gift culture · Regeneration
Ecovillages · Transition towns
Organic farming · Alternative education
Music · Poetry · Reconnection

Through past experiences and the inspiration of those who came before us, we have formed a set of guiding principles:

Caring for the Earth
Recognizing our relationship with nature, becoming aware of how our actions impact the land, ecosystems, and all forms of life, and becoming a pilgrim who holds love and care for Mother Earth.

Caring for the Local
Recognizing our relationship with society, becoming aware of the social and economic impact of travel on destinations, building genuine and respectful connections with local communities, and being a guest who contributes rather than harms.

Caring for the Inner World
Noticing how external experiences shape our inner world, witnessing shifts in emotions, sensations, and perceptions, nourishing the inner self, and creating space for deeper awareness and the growth of the soul.

Through this way of paying attention, we hope you may remember:

You have never truly been separate—from nature, from others, or from yourself.

The destinations we choose are both oriented toward the future and rooted in the past.

On one end lies the exploration and experimentation of new ways of living.

On the other lies ancient wisdom about how humans coexist with nature—wisdom not born from romantic imagination, but from long-term, lived relationships between people and the land. These ways of living have been tested repeatedly over time and continue to sustain real lives today.

We believe that in a rapidly developing modern world, making sense of the present and finding a way forward requires nourishment from both directions.

Therefore, our destinations include:

Indigenous / Traditional Communities Rooted in the Past
These communities carry forward ancestral wisdom and ways of living in relationship with nature. What they point to is not simply “the past,” but something more fundamental—how humans live on Earth. At a time when modern society increasingly instrumentalizes both nature and people, these living traditions offer an important reminder and point of reference.

Here, we come as learners—seeking to understand how these ways of living protect the land, relationships, and daily life, and reflecting on our own ways of living in the process.

Emerging Ecological Communities Oriented Toward the Future
These communities are engaged in diverse experiments grounded in care for nature and life itself—from architecture, food systems, and education, to economic models, organizational forms, and governance.

Here, we are invited to temporarily set aside our existing assumptions, and through direct experience, sense into and learn from new possibilities for future ways of living.

We choose to speak about money in a less conventional way.

Long ago, exchanges between people were not always centered on profit. Gifts flowed, relationships formed, and value was affirmed through mutual response. We choose to return, in part, to this more ancient wisdom.

We begin with a simple assumption: a truly meaningful journey is not something that is merely “purchased,” but something that is held and made possible together. Therefore, instead of one fixed price, we offer three options—inviting each person to respond honestly to their own situation and capacity.

🌿 Companion Price
Covers the actual costs of the journey, including preparation, local experiences, accommodation, transportation, and basic platform operations. This does not include compensation for the Jingyou team—it is closer to a volunteer-based contribution, offered in the spirit of sharing.

🌱 Co-Creation Price (Recommended)
Supports the continued existence of Jingyou. In addition to covering all costs, it contributes to the team’s ongoing work and long-term sustainability. By choosing this option, you are helping make these journeys possible.

🌾 Reciprocity Price
Allows the impact to flow further—to others and to the land. On top of the co-creation price, this includes a voluntary contribution. The additional portion will be used to:
• Support participants who are currently unable to afford the journey
• Support local communities connected through Mirrored Journey when needed

Some people are just finding their footing, some have more stability, and others are able and willing to give back more to the world. Whichever option you choose, the experience itself remains exactly the same.

Your choice will not be made public, nor will it define your identity within the group. Paying less will not limit your experience, and paying more will not grant additional privileges.

You will walk the same path, see the same landscapes, and be met with the same care.

Because what matters here is not how much you pay, but whether you are willing to show up authentically and step into the journey as you are.

We also welcome partners who resonate with our three guiding principles to share the journeys and courses they design and facilitate here.

What matters is that you are genuinely and deeply moved by what you offer, whether it is the destination, the people, the landscape, or the story behind it.

Most importantly, your intention is to share.

Like seeing a shooting star in the night sky—you wouldn’t hesitate or overthink, but instinctively invite those beside you to look. There is a natural impulse to share that moment of wonder with others.

There is no  fixed answers, nor do we believe there is only one “correct” way of living.

What we do is simply invite you into places where something real is unfolding—to see, to feel, to learn, and along the way, to reflect on your relationship with the world, with others, and with yourself.

These reflections do not need to be summarized, nor do they require immediate conclusions. Some changes happen quietly, within.

If you feel moved by this kind of journey, you are warmly welcome to walk alongside us.
